Save the Date: Science Teaching Effectiveness Program for Upcoming Professors (STEP-UP)
What: This course is an introduction to science education for postdoctoral scholars and graduate students who are planning on teaching at our partner institutions, serving as a teaching assistant at UCSF, or applying to faculty positions in the future.
When: January 20th- 23rd, 2015 from 12pm to 4pm
Where: Mission Bay Campus, Mission Hall Building
Note that Mission Hall is the new building located at the corner of 4th and 16th streets, across from Byers Hall – see map
How: Registration required by January 5th, 2015 (bitly.com/UCSF-STEP-UP). Space is limited. Priority will be given to UCSF participants who can attend all 4 days.
Lunch will be provided.
Topics include:
- Develop an outline of a Teaching Statement for a faculty position
- Learn about evidence-based strategies to enhance learning for all types of learners
- Practice developing and delivering course content, with feedback
