Leaders from the Professionalism Learning Community will teach a workshop to introduce participants to a framework for analyzing professionalism lapses, examine potential causes, and provide the skills to address a professionalism lapse in a trainee or peer after it occurs.
Time: 2-5 PM
Location: UCSF Parnasuss Campus, 521 Parnasuss Avenue, Room C-130, San Francisco, CA
Cost: Free of charge, and CE/CME credit is available. Registration is required.
The workshop will focus on:
- Define the range of behaviors that constitute a lapse in professionalism
- Identify the potential causes of professionalism lapses
- Describe the outcomes of dealing with professionalism as a trait vs. a competency
- Demonstrate a four-step process to respond to a professionalism lapse in the moment
- Apply critical reflection skills to analyze, question, and reframe an experience to learn and inform future behavior.
