The next (and last before the summer break) Science Education Journal Club will take place next Wednesday, May 27th from 12:30 - 1:30pm at Mission Bay in Mission Hall room MH 2108.

What is it?
The SEJCs are small, informal discussions around an education topic hosted jointly by the Office of Career and Professional Development (OCPD) and the Science & Health Education Partnership (SEP).

This month's paper discusses Stanford Psychology professor Carol Dweck’s research, examining the self-conceptions (or mindsets) people use to structure the self and guide their behavior. Her research looks at the origins of these mindsets, their role in motivation and self-regulation, and their impact on academic achievement.
