Lunch with Mala Murthy

When: Jan. 29th, 12:30-1:30 pm

Where: Rock Hall Potruck Auditorium, Mission Bay campus

Women in Life Sciences (WiLS) invites you to lunch with Dr Mala Murthy, the Tetrad student speaker and the Neuroscience series speaker. Dr Murthy is an assistant professor at Princeton's Neuroscience Institute and department of molecular biology. She studies how the brain converts sensory stimuli into meaningful representations, and how these representations drive behavioral responses. She started her lab in 2010 and has since received many early investigator awards, including ones from the National Science Foundation, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the Klingenstein Fund, the McKnight Foundation, and the NIH New Innovator Award. Over lunch, Dr. Murthy will be speaking about her career, how she got to where she is today, her advice to young scientists, and about supporting women in the sciences.
